A Favicon add's to the design and overall feel of your website. For many it just looks more professional, other's don't even notice it. Whichever way you swing, they're a lot of fun to generate and play with, especially inbetween weblogging and checking your facebook.
Anti Favicon allows you to create Text Favicons that are informative rather then decorative. Useful for download sites, information sites, or Geek Sites.
Degraeve.com is one of many generators that allows you to upload an image, crop, and use the image as a Favicon. Once you have created your Icon you will need to upload it to your root directory and add some html to your website.
